Dolphin Encounter offers the opportunity to interact with wild animals in their natural environment, and on their terms!

The Encounter operation is owned by people who grew up in Kaikoura, and they really know their region.  In fact, one of the partners pioneered ‘swim with the dolphins’ in New Zealand and, to this day, Encounter is a strong advocate to not lose sight of the fact that eco-tourism ventures is a privilege, not a right!  To read more about the special Dolphin Encounter philosophy, click HERE.

Located in Kaikoura, mid-way between Picton and Christchurch, the Dolphin Encounter boats go out every day, conditions permitting.  The tours have two options – viewing, or swimming.  FIND OUT MORE!
