Paua World is a wonderful and unique international visitor attraction located in Carterton, in the heart of the Wairarapa - just north of Wellington.

Paua World is a manufacturing centre where you can learn much about the world's most colorful shell, the Paua, or Abalone.  Here it is crafted into an exquisite range of jewellery, gifts and souvenirs, all of which reflect the status of the paua shell in New Zealand.  What is paua?

All our shell jewellery, beads and products - Paua, Pink Mussel and Mother of Pearl - are manufactured at our Carterton site.  Open every day, and entry is FREE of charge.
